Until recently Chief Executive of Glasgow Life, the city’s agency for culture and sport, Bridget’s career highlights include the 2022 reopening of The Burrell Collection (UK Museum of the Year 2023), the opening of the Riverside Museum (European Museum of the Year 2013), and the 2021 opening of the Emirates Arena and Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome. She took a leading role in securing and implementing the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and the 2018 European Championships, held in Glasgow and Berlin. 

Among her many current roles, Bridget is a member of the UKRI’s Arts & Humanities Council, Honorary Vice-President of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Chair of the Strategic Development Board of The Hunterian, and a Trustee of the National Museums of Scotland. She is a graduate of the Universities of St Andrews and Stirling and was awarded a CBE in 2015 for services to culture. Bridget has honorary degrees from Glasgow, Aberdeen, and St Andrews.

She will be in conversation with Philip Schlesinger, Professor in Cultural Theory at the University of Glasgow.
